Arnarstapi

Arnarstapi is a small fishing village on the south coast of Snæfellsnes, at the foot of Stapafell with Snæfellsjökull glacier behind it. The shore is basalt columns, sea caves and cliffs, and Gatklettur, a stone arch in the sea, is a short walk from the harbour.

A coastal path of about 2.5 km leads from Arnarstapi to Hellnar along the lava cliffs, where arctic terns and fulmars nest in summer. From the hotel it is about 55 minutes by car, and Búðakirkja, the black church, is on the way.
